Poseidon II
Oberhalb des Mühlenteichs vom Schloss Reinbek bei Hamburg befindet sich auf dem Berg ein Kunstmuseum – das Woods Art Institute.Vor dem Hauptgebäude wurde ein quadratisches Wasserbecken errichtet, in dem ein Findling positioniert wurde. Ein brachialer Dreizack aus Stahl steckt in diesem Stein. Poseidon heißt die Installation des Künstlers Thomas Judisch. Der Sage nach stieß der Meeresgott Poseidon den Dreizack in den Felsen der Akropolis und ließ eine Quelle sprudeln. Das Meer entstand!
A powerful trident made out of steel stands martially out of a rock at the pool in front of the Woods Art Institute. In the Greek mythology, the sea god uses the trident as sceptre and weapon. If he rams it furiously into the ground, the effects are devastating: the earth tremors, tidal waves race through the country and nobody’s in a safe place. Whether the godly tantrum is over or not remains an open question.
