Handle with care
Die Arbeit „Handle with care“ lässt sich als eine Weiterführung der Werkserie „Die letzte Hemd“ und „Bis auf die Haut“ verstehen. Auch in diesem Werk spielt der Prozess der Materialtransformation eine zentrale Rolle: Das Ausgangsmaterial wird zunächst zerschnitten und zerkleinert, um daraus Pulpe herzustellen. Aus dieser Pulpe formt der Künstler anschließend den ursprünglichen Gegenstand neu – weiße Handschuhe, wie sie typischerweise beim sachgerechten Umgang mit Kunstwerken getragen werden. Durch diese Umwandlung entsteht ein reflexiver Kreislauf zwischen Material, Form und Funktion, der Fragen nach Schutz, Berührung und künstlerischem Umgang mit dem Werk aufwirft.
The work „Handle with Care“ can be understood as a continuation of series „The Last Shirt“ and „Down to the Skin.“ In these works the process of material transformation plays a central role: The starting material is first cut and shredded to create pulp. From this pulp, the artist then re-forms the original object — white gloves, such as those typically worn when handling artworks properly. This transformation creates a reflexive cycle between material, form, and function, raising questions about protection, touch, and the artistic engagement with the work.
