The Great Empire
Pferdeäpfel wurden in Bronze abgegossen und schwarz patiniert. Die lose im Gartenterrain verteilten und vordergründig lapidar mit Vornamen betitelten Objekte werfen die Frage nach dem Verbleib von Reiter und Pferd auf. Mit Blick auf das klassische Reiterstandbild nehmen sie Bezug auf die großen Herrscher der Geschichte: Alexander der Große, Peter der Große und Friedrich II., auch Friedrich der Große oder Karl der Große und Katharina die Große.
Horse dropping were cast in bronze and given a black patina. Loosely scattered in the garden terrain and succinctly and facilely titled with first names, the objects raise the question where the equestrian and the horse went. Alluding to the classical equestrian statue, they reference the great rulers of history: Alexander the Great, Peter the Great and Frederick II a.k.a. Frederick the Great or Carl and Catherine the Great.
